Photo and invitation to graduation for Marie Muench, first graduate of Bethany Ladies College, June 13, 1913. Since Canistota, South Dakota did not have a senior year at their high school, Marie enrolled at Bethany Ladies' College, located in Mankato, Minnesota, during the first year of the school's existence. Thus after only one year of schooling Marie was the first person to 'graduate' from the school. Marie tells about attending the College on pages 19 and 20 of her life history.
